Three films produced for Wikimania 2025, celebrating the 6th edition of the Coolest Tool Awards, an annual recognition of the volunteer developers behind the tools that power Wikipedia and its sister projects.
Each film was designed to do what award ceremonies rarely manage: make infrastructure feel human. Behind every smooth edit, every sourced claim, every bot that runs quietly in the background - there's someone who built it for free and gave it to the world. The films put those teams or persons, and that act - at the centre.
