Sprout is a fitness based app - an initiative of Special Olympics & Microsoft. The app is based on Special Olympics' Fit5 Programme, Sprout guides the user through 10 levels of exercises and with each new level the player is able to feed and grow their garden and plants.
Alchemy & Lore's brief was to conceptualize a male and female character that would be extremely simple and identifiable so that people with special needs can easily read the character. The character then had to be animated - performing the various exercises for each step.
Our explorations into several character designs and feedback helped develop this simple, yet inviting and friendly forms.
After the characters were finalized, they had to be animated in clean, easy to read loops of exercises that would be later plugged into the app showcasing each and every step.
